I believe you could live an entire lifetime and never really understand the concept explained in this article. But once you allow yourself to consider it or even try it, you can’t unsee how undeniably true it is. It’s everywhere and it’s amazing.

It’s the only way!!

Health care is the outcome of pursuing a hedonistic lifestyle. We don’t need more health care we need to make better decisions in life as to the lifestyles we choose.

Let food be your medicine!

A few years ago, I was in a bicycle accident and hurt my knee so badly that I couldn't walk on that leg. I didn't ice it. I didn't go to the doctor. I didn't take over-the-counter meds. I just took it easy and let my body heal it. It healed perfectly. In a few weeks, I was able to ride my bike.

I've been practicing what I know of the Bates method since I was in my late 20s. My vision's not perfect, but at least I don't need glasses.

As far as sleep, my body refuses to sleep more than 5 hours per night. People who are able to get 7-9 ought to count themselves lucky.

Fantastic piece as usual, Katy.

Hi Moorea! I’m assuming you do all the sleep hygiene things right? (No food after 6, blue light glasses after 6, no screens 2 hours before bedtime. Cold temp, blackout curtains, noise machine if you’re a light sleeper? And I have found the most critical aspect is morning sun for 10 mins in first half hour after waking up, before screens.)

Thanks, Katy. I have tried those things with the following exceptions.

I don't have blue light blockers, but I do tint my screens amber in the evening and avoid fluorescent lights.

For 3 months, I did no screens 1 hour before bedtime. So 2 hours might make the difference?

I wear earplugs when necessary because I don't have a noise machine.

I admit I usually glance at my phone and/or computer before going outside first thing in the morning.

The reminder helps; thank you.

The noise machine is totally essential for me. I’m helpless without it. This is the one I use. I use Rah Optics blue lights blockers. Expensive but prescription. https://a.co/d/04qk1hHZ

Yes doing these things are very hard in our modern lives. I don’t do them ALL but I would if I wasn’t sleeping enough I guess!! Maybe lighter meals at night, bigger lunch?

I twisted my knee and it swelled up and extremely painful. At the time I had little money and no health insurance. In desperation I listened to a friend and went to her acupuncturist. After one treatment (included weak electrical) and a few days rest it was well on its way to healed. Made me a believer in OM. 7000 year culture might have some wisdom.

A lifelong process - the first step is getting back to the basics; whole/real food, water, sun, movement. Refine from there.
